Try changing transmission fluid and filter
Depends if you are only draining the transmission and changing the filter, or purging to remove the fluid in the torque converter and transmission cooler as well.
There is no drain plug assuming it is an automatic transmission it is drained when removing the transmission pan and changing the transmission filter.
4qts when draining pan & changing filter on an automatic 2 qts on a manual
The automatic transmission filter is in the transmission. It has an internal filter just like it has an internal gas filter in the gas tank.
There is no automatic transmission filter on Honda Pilot.
No.
Shifting of the automatic transmission should be smooth. Try changing the transmission oil and filter. If you take it to be done make sure you specify that you want the pan dropped and the filter replaced, as many places suck out the old fluid and do not change the filter.
Try changing the transmission fluid and filter
Yes, the automatic transmission filter is located inside the transmission pan.

Inside the automatic transmission pan
The filter is inside the transmission and must be took apart to change the filter.
The filter on the CD4E automatic trans is NOT user changeable - it's way up inside and doesn't require regular / routine changing.
How Do I Change My Automatic Transmission Filter?www.2carpros.com/how_to/transmission_service.htm
I don't believe Honda Element automatic transmission has a filter.
Changing your transmission filter will help in improving the slipping under load.
Approx 5 or 6
In an automatic Eclipse, the transmission filter is located inside of the transmission. To change the filter, the entire transmission must be disassembled to reach it.
I can't say for certain about an Acura, because I've never had one, but usually they are inside the transmission. You have to pull off the bottom plate, usually called the transmission oil pan. Be ready for it to dribble out all of your transmission fluid. The filter should then be easily accesible from there. ======= The 2002 Acura TL automatic transmission DOES NOT HAVE a filter! Regular maintenance - completely draining and replacing the automatic transmission fluid at prescribed intervals - is all that needs to be done. Make sure to do this!!! Because - and I repeat - the 2002 Acura TL automatic transmission DOES NOT HAVE a filter. It Does have a filter, it is below the Air Filter housing, it's a small black Metal filter. There is a plate that covers it or a good part of it. Looks like a small motorcycle oil filter.
The automatic transmission holds about five quarts of fluid if your changing the filter. If it is a freshly installed unit, it will take about ten quarts.
