i just got quoted $598.00 on my 1990 dynasty. That's Canadian prices.
a reconditioned rack and pinion for $230 and 4 hrs labour at $89.95,
i think i can find a better deal somwhere else though, they tried to upsell me for 2600 in extra work
No
A diagram of the rack and pinion for a Dodge vehicle would be available from the manufacturer. Alternatively, many repair manuals contained detailed diagrams of the power steering system.
A Dynasty would have an a413 or an a604.
Extremely difficult. It would be pretty difficult to replace a rack and pinion. You are probably better off having a professional do it, or even just buying a newer van.
The labor cost to replace a rack and pinion steering on a 97 Taurus should run between $500 and $750. The actual cost varies based on the location in which it is repaired in and the repair shop.
replace it.. most shops get a rebuilt unit and replace the whole unit. I would not try to rebuild one myself. good luck
probaly lost a bolt or over heated
Too much. Get a newer car
No. The pinion seal would be at the differential input.
Dodge Spirit and Caravan are the only ones I can think of as they carry the same wiring and everything as a Dynasty would.
Amplifier or blown fuse.
Anything is possible, but that would fall under why. The cost and amount of labor required would be very high.
