I am sure that there is more than one species of centipede in Japan but my husband was recently bitten/stung by one and it caused numbness and severe pain... Also.... the area of the bite was a little clammy for a while... We went to the emergency department and they told us that there is no cure for this sort of thing and that it would heal on it's own... I have researched it online and they say to wash the area thoroughly with soap and water and that ibuprofen is somewhat beneficial.... Also a warm compress is supposed to ease the pain... I read that centipede bites are not lethal and that it would take about 1000 times more to kill an average human.... We are currently in Okinawa, Japan... I hope that this helps you out....
Only if you annoy it
A centipede bite looks a lot like a bee sting or a mosquito bite. Some centipede bites don't leave much of a visible mark. It depends on the size of the centipede. They usually prefer to run away rather than biting to defend themselves.
any answers?
Not unless you have an allergic reaction to their venom.
yes and no they are venomous which means if they bite you their venom will get in you (poisonous is when you lick them like a poison dart frog has poison on it skin but centipede isn't like that).
The bite from a giant centipede is incredibly painfull, not for just a short while, the pain is intense for several hours, & persists with less severity for several days, as does the associated swelling. The best treatment is to wash the bite as soon as possible, then use ice to relieve the pain.
Millipedes do NOT bite humans... If handled they can secrete a mild poison that can irritate some people's skin. Do not confuse them with a house centipede however... Those do bite

Centipedes bite but they are not poisonus. If you see one they are not poisonus, but still don't touch it

Sting.ANS2:Their bite stings. The fangs of a centipede are modified legs. They are associated with the mouth so most would consider them mouth-parts. That being the case, centipedes bite. See link
