How should I order my workouts?

I like to swim laps almost everyday but I want to start weight lifting also. I have a few questions.
You're supposed to have a day off between workouts. Can you swim laps on those days off or does that mess up your muscle building?
Should I swim laps before or after Weightlifting?
I want to do 3 sets of one exercise for each muscled(biceps, triceps, chest, back, shoulders, abs, and legs.) Which exercise do you recommend for each muscle and in what order should I do them?
