the fuel pump is located inside the gas tank. you will have to remove the gas tank It would be safer to remove the bed 4 bolts, and disconnect wiring and the fueling port. The pump drops down into the tank via a bung hole. Twist lock to loosen pump and be careful replacing the gasket. Gasket is critical. Rather than remove the bed altogether, just tilt the bed up in the front like the hood of a car after removing the bolts per above. Safely prop the bed up with a board cut to length. Be careful not to let the bed slide into the bumber as the bumper does not move. Remove pump assembly from the top of the gas tank. Its easier, cleaner, and will encourage a higher quality operation as you are working from the top of the vehicle instead of underneath. Again, be careful not to damage lower rear body parts on the bumper as the bed can slide.
You need to drop the fuel tank to gain access to the sending unit assembly.
