To replace the heater blower motor: First unplug the wire connectors. Then remove the screws and the motor will pull out. Reverse the process to reinstall the blower motor.
If you are saying that the blower motor only works on the high speed setting, then the Blower Motor Resistor is defective and needs replacing.
i had a 1990 acura legend my blower motor was located under the passenger side dash board
Underneath the wiper motor assy.
Disconnect battery ground cable. Disconnect blower motor electrical connections. Remove blower motor attaching screws, then blower motor. On models with A/C it may be necessary to dismount alternator and move away from module. Reverse procedure to install.
Check at the blower motor itself. Have it turned on and tap the end of the blower motor with a hammer. I did this and found out that the blower motor was going out. The blower motor is on the top passenger side under the hood. Also check the wire connections. Make sure they are seated good. If this includes for the heater then I would say the blower motor is bad.
Check to see if you are getting power to blower motor--if so, bad blower motor If no power- perhaps bad resistor pack at blower motor Bad switch?

In the 1999 Trooper the relay is sbove the inside fuses. It is above the fuse door, so that the whole panel by bottom of the driver door must be pulled. Don't know if that helps for 1990. Note: My fuse, relay and motor are good, but no power to motor. added 1/22/2008 The blower motor resistor is located on the housing located on the firewall. This housing is were the blower motor is.
Hello,Here is the procedure for removing the blower unit on a 1990 300ZX. Note that it may be necessary to remove the glove box assembly to gain clearance for the blower motor removal and installation. The blower motor is located behind the glove box, facing the floor.1) Disconnect the negative battery cable.2) Remove all panels and ducting necessary to gain access to the blower motor.3) Disconnect the blower motor harness wiring connectors.4) Remove the blower motor retaining screws and lower the motor/wheel from the intake housing. On some models, release the clips that attach the blower casing to the intake5) housing to remove the blower motor. To install:1) Transfer the old blower wheel to the shaft of the new motor.2) Raise the blower/wheel assembly up and onto the intake housing. Use a new gasket, if required.3) Install the blower motor retaining screws or lock the clips.4) Connect the blower motor wiring.5) Install all ducting and panels.6) Connect the negative battery cable.7) Check the blower for proper operation at all speeds.
In my '95 cherokee, the blower motor resistor is under the glove box. I assume it's about the same on a 1990. I posted instructions (with pictures, so at least you'll know what you're looking for) for replacing it on www.timsjeepblog.com.
