Starting at the base, remove two bolts through the floor; unhook the clamps under the dash. Removing the passenger side seat will be very helpful. Check carefully for radio connections especially in conversion/aftermarket applications. Then slowly tilt the "doghouse" up while pulling backwards. If not moving look for more hidden bolt/screws.

Take it off
You have to, from the inside of the van, remove the engine cover. Then all you have to do is remove the two flywing screws and lift the cover.
It depends on the model year and size of engine cover based on the engine underneath. For 1996 and newer, you generally have to remove the passenger seat in order to get the cover out of the way.
Remove the head light cover plate, then remove head light braket, once you have done that pull the light out and un-plug it.

On top of the engine block. You'll need to remove the inside engine cover
Remove 2 bolts in front on the bottom of the engine cover. Remove 2 Phillips bolts in the ash tray area. and lastly there are two latches toward the back of the cover....one on each side. You then pull the bottom of the engine cover toward the rear and tilt the top out slowly. It's easy.
On top of the engine block. You'll need to remove that engine cover inside the van to get at it. It's in the big round cleaner assembly.
Most likely it is a THM 700R4/ 4L60.
