THE ANTENNA MAST OPERATES ON A PLASTIC CABLE WITH TEETH ON IT. WHAT HAPPENS IS THE TEETH WEAR OUT OR THE CABLE BREAKS. TO REMOVE THE OLD CABLE REMOVE THE NUT ON TOP AND TURN RADIO ON AND PULL OUT THE OLD CABLE. TO REPLACE THE NEW ONE STICK THE CABLE IN THE HOLE, TURN THE RADIO OFF AND THE MOTOR WILL PULL THE CABLE AND ANTENNA IN AND DOWN AND REPLACE THE NUT. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE ALL OF THE OLD CABLE OUT. IF NOT YOU CAN ACCESS ANY BROKEN OFF PIECES BY REMOVING THE COVER PLATE ON THE SIDE OF THE ANTENNA MOTOR. I HOPE THIS INFORMATION HELPS.

I believe you can simply replace the antenna mast; eBay has one but it is for a power antenna that mounts on the passenger side. that means that the drive cord is stripped, on some cars, the mast with the drive strip alone can be replaced, on others, you have to replace the entire mast / motor assembly.

If the motor is working correctly, you may be able to simply replace the mast. Pull up on the mast while turning on the radio, and keep pulling when the mast has reached it's uppermost point.
