HELP! I have a 90 Stanza On top of tranny cover pan there's a metal tube that looks like a vacuum line goes on it. I noticed hose is gone and have no idea where it attaches on the other end PLZ Help!!
you must remove the alternator and then you will see the thermostat housing is very simple to access.
-The housing is under the alternator, but you really don't have to remove the alternator. If you follow the bottom hose of the radiator around to the engine block, you will see an elbow bolting the hose to the block. That is the location of the thermostat. Remove this elbow from the block (and hose if necessary) to get to it. The thermostat just pulls out. Place your new one in and make sure you use a new gasket when you reattach the elbow.
