Unfortunately, there was no Volvo 950. There was a 940, a 960 and an 850. The 850 was front wheel drive, and the 9 series models were rear wheel drive. Hope this helps!
There's no Volvo 850 2000. What you likely saw was a S70.
I had to do this on my 96 850, and no, I did not have to have it running, just on accessories on ignition.
Not easily. The 940 engine is a 4 cylinder rear wheel drive that is oriented front to back. The 850 engine is a transverse 5 cylinder front wheel drive. The transmission/transaxle in the two are very different.
Fix the problem and the light will go out. Normally on Volvo 850's the ABS sensor goes out (actually a wire comes loose inside the unit) this sensor is under the hood on the ABS unit.
go to your local Volvo dealer, there is a recall or fix for that at no charge!
I was told (just yesterday) by a Volvo dealership mechanic to leave the key in the on position for up to 2 hours. This applies to my 1994 940.
The Volvo 850 has two horns in front of the radiator, lift the hood and their they are.
