They were not allowed to vote, they did not have actuall right or authority or very little at home and in society. Women did not have any rights in other nations either at the time. Slaves were still treated teribly though i would not doubt that some were rewarded or freed for fighting in the war. The Brits said that if you were a slave and fought on their side u would be paid and freed when the war was over. Britain did not hold up these promises as i learned and that but one might have been...who knows. That is the joy of history. You wonder and that is something that runs in the family too much of a thinker? me that is. Slaves and women had harsh lives still. What is unknown really can be said but not clairifyed.
