A netbook is kind of like a mini laptop. There are new laptops coming out as a new brand known as Acer. Acer netbooks have 7-9 inches diagonally across the monitor screen. To give you a hint of what that is like a Macbook Pro can have 13-17 inches diagonally across the monitor screen. Oftentimes, a netbook will have up to 2 USB ports (the Mac Mini I'm using to type this has 4) and no CD slot. Now, a notebook is ridiculously primitive. A notebook is useful as a portable database, a word processor, and maybe for a game or 2 of Chess or checkers in black and white. That's about it. It doesn't even have internet. Nowadays, netbooks are all the rage. They're ultra-portable and cost less than $400 (and just to give a hint about that, the average Macbook Pro costs $1300). And to let you know, notebooks aren't made anymore because they don't have wireless or wired internet.
I am using Intel Atom based Netbook, which is thinner more portable and also it's a lightweight and easy to take anywhere you can enjoy reading EBooks, playing games and many other work that is associated with your nature of job.
Both notebook and netbook computers work well for web surfing. The notebook offers more versatility while the netbook offers a much cheaper price.
Notebook, Ultrabook, Netbook.....

The greatest difference is that a netbook or tablet are made for internet use only. The laptop notebook will also be able to have Office or other useful software as well as a hard drive for storage.
A netbook is a small laptop that's more portable but slower, a notebook is usually the same as a laptop but used to mean a smaller unit. Laptops are usually the largest of the three classes.

A laptop notebook has a larger processor (more RAM), larger storage space, and can function at a quicker rate, even when running multiple programs. A netbook is much smaller, and is primarily used for accessing the internet.
A netbook is a version of a laptop computer. It is smaller than a notebook, sometimes called a regular laptop and is generally less powerful and less expensive.
