look to see if there is a plug in the bottom of the overflow resivoir. If so this is the "coolant level sensor" these often crud up and read low even when full. Often a couple raps with a rubber hammer on the top of the resivoir will unstick the sensor. Next step if does not work is remove and clean the inside of the resivoir. If this does not fix, the sensor must be replaced. Sometimes it is available separately, sometimes the resivoir assembly must be purchased w/ sensor installed from your dealer. I DO NOT RECOMMEND A USED PART FROM A JUNK YARD FOR THIS REPAIR. It likely already has or will have the same problem.
i like this answer except why not get a used one for $10 from the junkyard and try rather than getripped off by the dealer on a car that old?
Place something to catch the engine coolant beneath your 1990 Chevy Corsica radiator. Remove the radiator drain plug with a 9/16 ratchet. The engine coolant will drain out.
Leaking radiator radiator hose head gasket water pump Heater core thermostat housing
The radiator drain on a 1992 Chevy Corsica is located on the bottom, left side of the radiator. It provides a quick and effective way to drain the radiator during maintenance.
your heater core is leaking
1991 Corsica its under the trottle body
Green coolant (prestone, etc)
I would doubt you would pour engine block sealer into coolant. More likely it would just need to be put in with the oil. Like lucas. I dont know your particular product. Depends also, are you leaking coolant, or burning it?
It is located on the drivers side of the car on the bottom of the radiator
Leaking radiator? Leaking or loose radiator hose?
Does it have 2 lines coming from the top of the oil filter, and going to the radiator. If so that is the oil cooler. You need to replace the RADIATOR Those 2 lines go into the radiator so it can cool the oil, and the tubes are leaking oil into the coolant.
This should happen automatically. Are you losing coolant, is the cooling system leaking somewhere? Have you just changed the coolant? Unless there is a leak, the system should purge by itself.
Radiator, radiator cap, radiator hoses, water pump, coolant reservior and heater core are the more obvious areas. If you notice coolant in your oil it can be caused by a blown head gasket or damaged coolant sleeve in the head of the enging. If you cannot see any coolant leaks outside of the vehicle, check the floor mats on the interior. If you find coolant there, it more than likely is a heater core.
