If a 1995 Geo Prism squeals when you turn the wheels hard on starting but not after it warms up what could cause that?

this is normally caused by a worn belt.after the vehicle warms up the belt expand with the heat picking up the slack and stopping the noise.

There's shafts & gears that connect to the front wheels or rear wheels witch cause a rotation

Check the tension on the belt; a loose belt will cause the battery voltage to go down because it may be slipping on the alternator and also squeals when you accelerate because the crankshaft is turning faster than the belt.

Most likely cause is out of balance wheels. Get your wheels balanced by your garage or tyre specialist.

When a car squeals while moving, but the brakes still work properly, it could be a squeal from a drive belt. It could also mean that something like a tire rim is rubbing on the brake rotor. A vacuum leak in a small hose under the hood will also cause a squealing noise.

Most likely cause is a build up of brake dust.

When facing uphill, turn your wheels AWAY from the curb. If your vehicle rolls back, this would cause the front wheels to catch the curb and stop. If there is no curb, do the opposite. This would cause the vehicle's rear to move off the roadway. .

A warped rotor may cause the wheels to make noise when reversing. If the rotor is not worn evenly when the car spins the wheels differently it may cause the rotor to scrape.

most likely its a dynamic balance, basically you need to get your wheels balanced, but wheel bearings could cause it (least likely) an out of round tire may cause it (most cause is static balance) bottom line get your wheels balanced
