could be the crank sencor on the side right of the engine block, next to the transmission. IT IS VERY HARD TO REACH AND REPLACE.
Check to see if engine is getting fuel and spark
it may be the o2 scensor
While driving my cavalier will shift into high gear for at least a couple of minutes. Shifting gears, giving it gas does not help. Any suggestions?
Sounds like an ignition module....
The distributor might be damaged on your 1999 Buick Regal if it stalls occasionally and will not start. This problem is common in older vehicles and once you sit for a few minutes, the vehicle will generally restart.Ê
Replace the fuel filter, that is a good place to start.
mine did that and i replaced the crank shaft sensor, problem was fixed
check for clogged fuel filter, or faulty fuel pump
you have a week battery contact or your alternator is about to give out on you
get your engine hot for 5 minutes, while running slowly pour it down the carb till the engine stops. (using about half a can) wait 10 min, start engine, it will be hard to start. run it at about 1000 rpm for 3 minutes till all black smoke clears. turn off engine, rinse repeat till no longer seeing black smoke
Milk stops the burns but only a while
The most common reason for this condition is a faulty ignition switch. It loses contact momentarily while cranking, causing a voltage loss to the security system and starts the 10 minute security timer in the computer. It will not start until the timer runs out. Usually the key has to be left on after a start attempt for the ten minutes. Some cars require 30 minutes.
