This is a tricky question, because what you probably mean is how long will it take to lose 50 pounds of FAT by not eating. Additionally, the energy required to heal your muscles after exercise will further increase your calorie requirements and make you lose weight even faster.


I'm 5'9" and I used to weigh 150 while starving myself on 1000 calories a day. Then I started eating 3500 calories a day while going to the gym and shot up to 185 in only a few months. I had gained some fat, but I had gained a lot of muscle too. Then I was actually able to lose weight by eating 2500 calories a day, and it came off FAST. FAST like a noticeable difference every morning. Once I got down to where I wanted, I went back to eating 3000 calories and now I don't really have to watch what I eat, my body just uses it all up.
