you might want to change your transmission filter to see if that stops the problem----------whoever changes filter have them check the fluid in pan of transmission to see if its gritty if it is or smells burnt if so your clutches might be slipping hoped this helps
I really don't think changing the filter is your problem or you would have no shifting if the filter was clogged, your problem is more the tv cable (throttle valve cable) is out of adjustment, this cable controls the speeds the transmission shifts at. your overdrive is probably working but because the cableis out of adjustment it causes it to shift a lot later take your car or truck to a tranny shop not a mechanic ask him to adjust the tv linkage then drive the car see if it's better more time then not it's that cable ...good luck to you ...
A gaffer. I think.
Tornados
Plate tectonic shifts are natural and there is nothing humans can do about it. If you would like you can pray to God in hopes that he can stop them from shifting, but as i said... they're natural and we cant do anything to stop them. I hope my answer helped you..
most definitely
the ground shifts and there are tiny earthquakes.
If a 1988 Mercury Grand Marquis shifting out of second gear gets choppy after acceleration then the overdrive band may need servicing. An overdrive band that is sticking can also cause this problem.
Shifts the transmission in/out of overdrive Shifts the transmission in/out of overdrive
If it shifts smothly into the gears before o/d it is not the cable.
Mine has the same problem. The transmission guy said not to worry about it.
not sure on all of it but i have a 97 and the SAME problem i did fix the overdrive thing but still have the gear problem if you remove the airfilter junk youll see the to of the transmission look toward the front of the car and you will see a plug on top the inhibitor switch i think you will see the wires have lost the casing around them and now they all touch replace that and overdrive will work but i did this and still have the gear jumping if you find out what the transmission problem is shoot me an e-mail plz kazzar@ymail.com thx
I have a 1997 ford e 350 van with automatic transmission when the transmission shifts form 3rd gear to overdrive at about 50-55 mph it falters and bucks and I have to let off on the gas so it can pick-up speed, when I have overdrive off and put on overdrive when 3rd gear shifts to overdrive at 50-55 mph it shifts smoother but if I give too much gas again it bucks and falters till I let off gas so it can retain speed slowly.
My 1984 corvette transmission is not shifting into overdrive. It shifts first thru third fine.
I don't know the answer but it might help if you specify Chrysler or Toyota transmission. If you have a 6 cyl 93 Grand Cherokee without an overdrive button on the dash then its a Toyota transmission If you have the button it's a Chrysler unit. Good luck.
It controls the transmission shifts. It controls the transmission shifts.
If you are on a highway maintaining over 45 mph. OK, but If vehicle continually shifts in and out of overdrive you are better off leaving it in 3rd
Overdrive is the normally allowed position , but unless you are going fast enough it will not shift into overdrive because it acts as the " top " gear ( on my Explorer I have to be going 50 miles per hour / 80 kilometers per hour before it shifts into overdrive )
The overdrive light blinks when the computer senses a transmission problem. (IE. Torque Converter failure) The reason it feels like it downshifts is due to the computer putting the transmission into a fail-safe mode to reduce further transmission damage.
