Is a married license in mexico valid in the united states??
Before someone can get married again they must have a finalized divorce decree from the first marriage. Without that the second marriage is not valid.
US laws take precedence, therefore if the couple were legally married in the US and legally divorced in the US, then the divorce is valid. If the couple lived together as a couple (engaging in a sexual relationship, sharing mutual finances, etc.) at the time the divorce was pending then the divorce is not valid.
It is not valid!!! Your new marriage is not valid as you are still married so, that's Good! You were never divorced! Are you in Texas? If you married in good faith (believing you were divorced) then you are fine with your second marriage. At least that is how it was 20 yrs ago when the same thing happened to me.
my wife divorced her husband by mail in Guam, they were married in Canada,is the divorce valid in Canada
Just like a legal marriage is valid in the US regardless of where it was perfromed, a legal divorce is also valid regardless of where it was granted.
Yes. If it is lawfully binding then it will always be valid.
The answer depends on the chronology and you haven't provided enough detail so consider the following:If you did not divorce after the first marriage then the second marriage was invalid. If the divorce was after the first marriage then your second marriage was valid and you are still married if you married the same person again. If both marriages to the same person were prior to the divorce then your marriage was legally dissolved.
A Divorce is legal in any country.
Yes - you may divorce anyone in any state at anytime.
Marriage laws are determined by your state of residence. Most states follow the general rules that if your marriage was legal in the place you got married, it is legal and valid in other states/countries too. If you were married in Guatemala and the marriage was valid there, you will have to get a divorce before you can remarry. You can divorce in the state where you now live.
The license is still on file and valid. You can obtain a copy at the court house.
