excerise is only half of the process of losing weight. if you want you want to lose weight in your butt, then your diet has to be altered. eating right and excercising will increase your chances of firming your butt. also, there are creams you can buy from supermarkets, chemists, k-mart, big-w etc. that were designed to help firm the skin. you could rub some of these creams into your butt and you should see results within a couple of weeks.

The best weight training exercises are squats, deadlifts, and their variations. Ensure that you are doing at least one kind of squat or deadlift at each (full body) workout. Then, if you want to do more for your upper legs, consider seated knee extensions, leg presses, leg curls. Of course, you could supplement back squats with hack squats or sissy squats, or just use front squats. For calf training, alternate (at different training sessions) doing standing or donkey calf raises with seated calf raises. Also, do not forget to work the muscles on the front of your shins using a D.A.R.D. machine or weighted toe raises.
The quadriceps is one of the large muscles in your thigh, so any sport that involves a lot of running would be good for using your quadriceps. Examples would include track and field events, football (soccer or American football or Aussie Rules), rugby, etc.

Try doing some explosive box squats. To jump as high and as fast as possible try to squat 2-3 times your bodyweight.
There are several simple exercises one can do to strengthen the knee including bodyweight squats, stability hamstring curl, barbell calf raises, glute bridge, and IT band stretch.
