Correction: According to this website, http://www.nybarreview.com/, New York currently has reciprocity with: Alaska / Colorado / District of Columbia / Illinois / Indiana / Iowa / Kentucky / Massachusetts / Michigan / Minnesota / Missouri / Nebraska / North Carolina / North Dakota / Ohio / Oklahoma / Pennsylvania / Tennessee / Texas / Virginia / Washington / West Virginia / Wisconsin / Wyoming / Colorado / District of Columbia / Illinois / Indiana / Iowa / Kentucky / Massachusetts / Michigan / Minnesota / Missouri / Nebraska / North Carolina / North Dakota / Ohio / Oklahoma / Pennsylvania / Tennessee / Texas / Virginia / Washington / West Virginia / Wisconsin /Wyoming, According to this website, http://juristech.com/chart.html, reciprocity for the NY bar is given in these states: AK, CO, DC, GA, IL, IN, IA, KY, MA, MI, MN, MO, NE, NH, NC, ND, OH, OK, PA, TN, TX, UT, VA, WA, WV, WI, WY. Utah is included in the former, though not the latter, Georgia is included in the latter, though not the former. I'm not sure about this. The best bet is to contact the NY State Board of Law Examiners: office (518) 452-8700. I couldn't find the answer on their website http://www.nybarexam.org/Rules/Rules.htm. In either case, by taking the NY bar, you have the benefit of waiving into these states (and DC), though other conditions apply in the particular jurisdictions. If you had a specific state in mind, you should probably investigate more to see what other requirements have to be fulfilled.
To travel from anywhere in Ohio to anywhere in New York, you only have to pass through Pennsylvania. If you go by Lake Erie, you don't have to pass through any other states.
The short answer is NO, I doubt that they could, it is not their right to waive.
Yes. Any one state's interstate pass device (IPass, EZPass, etc.) will work in other states.
Absolutely true. Many other states are also starting this. New York will be on Jan 1st
