How did the Battle of Bunker Hill bring the colonists closer to independence?

The June 1775 Battle of Bunker Hill brought the American Colonies at least one step closer to independence in several ways. For another thing, it hardened British resolve to refuse any concessions to the tentative rebellion; in turn, this steeled the Colonies to their cause, and the Revolutionary War soon escalated into full-fledged hostilities that resulted (after years of conflict) in a number of significant victories.

How did conflicts with Great Britain and Spain affect the borders of the US?

There were several ways in which the conflict between Great Britain and Spain affected the borders of the US. First, when the conflict began the British troops were sent from the US borders to fight. This allowed the United States to take control of more land. Second, the goods that were being shipped from Britain and Spain to the US were no longer arriving. This caused the Americans to learn to provide for these needs on their own and created more industrialization within the colonies.
