They are about evenly matched, but Pakistan is a smaller country with a smaller army. India was a British colony for two centuries, and they retain British military ideas which carries advantages and disadvantages. Both countries have good equipment and good armies. If I had to bet, I would bet on India, but these two countries gained the nuclear bomb in the 1970's, and they have a nuclear parity with each other which makes a confrontation between their armies unlikely.
