Medicare is not broke; however, it will run out of money in the foreseeable future unless revenue is increased and/or expenses are reduced.

No. Estimates vary, but it might happen within the next few years if something isn't done. My suggestion is stop spending $250,000 a minute in Iraq and Afghanistan.

When will Medicaid be bankrupt?

Medicaid is a program for persons of limited income that is financed approximately 90% by the Federal government and 10% by the state. It cannot go "bankrupt." In theory, the federal government may decide to discontinue the program, but that's not going to happen. You might be thinking about Medicare, which is an insurance program for persons over 65 and theoretically could go bankrupt; however, the federal government is not going to let that happen, either.

Can you buy Medicare supplemental insurance if you have Medicare carve out coverage?

Please explain your question more thoroughly if my answer does not suffice. I am unsure of what you mean by Medicare Carve Out Coverage. You can buy a Medicare Supplement at any time once you have received your Medicare Part A and Part B. If you do not enroll within 6 months of your Part B effective date you would be subject to underwriting. You can not join a Medicare Supplement if you already have a Medicare Advantage Plan as this is not allowed by Centers for Medicare. You would be required to drop your Medicare Advantage Plan prior to the Medicare Supplement effective date. If you had coverage through an employer, you would not need Medicare Supplement coverage as your employer coverage would be primary and then Medicare would be secondary for your out-of-pocket costs covered by Medicare.

Is it necessary to have Medicare if you already have veterans medical benefits?

Medicare is used by the VA to keep their own medical care expenses down. When a veteran eligible for medicare is under their care, the VA will bill Medicare to help ensure all veterans can be taken care of adequately. If you are eligible for medicare, apply to help the VA maintain high quality medical care for other vets.

Why are people forced to accept medicare when they already have good health insurance?

The current regulations require tat you have some sort of minimal health insurance, either through an employer, purchased on your own, or from the government (medicaid) if you qualify based on income and resources. If you already have health insurance from an employer or otherwise that is comparable to or better than medicare than you can keep it and do not need to apply for medicare.
