No matter how much we may want to deny it, everything we do (or don't do) will at some point cause a change of events that effects others.

The Butterfly Effect documents how a butterfly's wings might create tiny changes in the atmosphere that may ultimately alter the path of a tornado or delay, accelerate or even prevent the occurrence of a tornado in a certain location.

The flapping wing represents a small change in the initial condition of the system, which causes a chain of events leading to large-scale alterations of events

Or the "domino effect" suggests that any change, no matter how small in itself, will cause a similar change nearby, which then will cause another similar change, and so on.
