Take them off so you can pull the motor forwards...that will give you more room to work. Undo the line off the rack and pinion....you may need a flare nut wrench to get it off. At the pump, you'll need a flare nut wrench again to remove the pressure line. The return line is held onto an elbow by a clamp. If that line needs to be changed, it's best to cut the old line off the elbow because if you yank on it and break the elbow, you'll be buying a new pump.
