The best hand position for straight ahead steering is to think of the steering wheel as a clock. The best position would be to have the hands on the 3 and the 9, which is what people are taught when learning how to drive.
Come to our forum and ask there. I do not know about a steering wheel position sensor. www.trailvoy.com
Low Power Steering Fluid
There's a lever to the left of the steering column for adjustment.
You can adjust the steering box some. Or possible ball joint problems. If the problem is lurches and surges in the steering (can feel like loose idler arm, loose ball joints, etc.), one common cause is a faulty steering position sensor. This $60 sensor at the base of the steering column (inside the vehicle) tells the variable assist power steering how fast you are turning the steering wheel.
It is not possible to alter a car from a manual steering into a power steering car. The engines for the two types of cars are very different.
Variable ratio (VR) steering means that the ratio between the steering wheel and the wheels (tires) is not constant. Depending on the position of the steering wheel the car wheels may be more or less sensitive to steering wheel rotation. Practically, when you drive straight (steering wheels in neutral position) the steering ratio is about 2 times higher compare to steering ration when you are parking (steering wheels is away from neutral position). Variable ratio rack and pinion is used in VR steering. It was originally invented in Australia and later improved in the USA. Variable ratio rack and pinion software is used for calculation of the complex tooth surface of the vr rack.
replace the steering column.
To unlock the steering wheel on a 1993 Honda place the key in the on position. Doing so will free the steering wheel.
The camshaft position sensor is right under the power steering pump. Remove the power steering pump to access the sensor.
first, check for loose steering and suspension parts.second, check alignment.without looking at vehicle, its hard to tell.
Remove steering wheel Remove Steering lock plate Place ignition in on position Depress lock pin now exposed. If this is not possible, drill out lock pin.
SQUEAK = FAULTY STEERING WEEL PUMP ,,,change it .
Steering wheels are generally locked from the ignition switch. It is supposed to lock only in the OFF position. If you steering locks in any other key position, you likely have a problem with the linkage rod or cable that connects the ignition lock cylinder to the steering column. You have to take apart the dash and possibly the steering column to fix this.
Try wiggling the steering wheel
9 and 3
The power steering on a vehicle can be jammed due to a rack and pinion issue in the steering column. Another possible cause could be that the power steering fluid may be low and the power steering pump may be going out.
Your lock is broke, It was probably forced up or down while in its locked position and it detached. It's also possible for the tilt assembly connection bolts to have loosened over time.
Turn the steering wheel as far as you can to the right, then turn the key into the on position.
It combines control of steering and acceleration
It is possible that there is a wire that is frayed or cut some where in the stering colum. or it is being pinched to much when the wheel is in the up postion. if it becomes too serious have it checked by an atuo repair tech. by: wolverine
That is possible, The "clockspring" is the wiring connection under the steering wheel. That is possible, The "clockspring" is the wiring connection under the steering wheel.
Behinf the power steering pump
The Camshaft Position Sensor is located behind the Power Steering Pump.
Start the engine, and turn the steering wheel as far right as possible, and then as farleft as possible. Keep doing this until you hear no more air in the system. Drive it around for a day or so, and repeat the procedure.
