In my experience most of these trucks wiring harnesses DO come prewired for trailer brakes but you still need to buy the kit that allows electrical trailer brakes to operate. This will include a switch box in the cab and hook ups at the rear of the truck that go to the trailer. Because of the many options that trucks can come with its just economical to include this extra wiring in the harness in case a factory type of brake system is added in the future and it also allows the factory to minimize the number of different kinds of harnesses they carry in stock.
A wiring diagram for the brake system should be looked at to determine which color wire controls this function both at the rear and under the dash. I'll leave it to someone more experienced than I to elaborate on this but considering the possible severe consequences of getting it wrong I would recommend taking this to a reputable service department and having it done right the first time.
Good luck !!!

It's the number 14 Fuse.
You will need a trailer brake control installed in the truck. If you have the towing package on the truck (hitch receiver and seven blade plug) then the brake control is a simple plug in installation that takes no more than 20 minutes.
You have to get a special socket at the auto store.
