Everything was created by God for his good purposes. The Devil is an instrument of wrath that God uses to lead folks from evil to God. People can come out from the power of the devil when they turn from deliberate sin and start seeking God, his will, and his glory.

Heb 2:14 declares that the devil has the power of death so I argue that the Devil is God's angel of Death! Rev 20:3 declares that after the thousand years are finished the devil will be released for a little while. This ties in with the days that are shortened for the sake of the elect in Matt 24:22 and Mar 13:20. If these days were not shortened "no flesh would be saved!"

I think that God shortens the time when his true seekers testify for him, their time in the millennial reign. As our bodies fail, our ability to live as a new creation in Christ diminishes. I don't think this millennial reign has anything to do with 1000 years, but rather 'til completion', until we die.

Recap

The devil is doing the task that God has assigned him, stealing killing and destroying from those who disobey God and reject his covenant. He leads his army from the north, his Nicolaitan Priests class locusts, effectively spoiling the daily sacrifice, the efforts of all todays Christian "church goers"

No. Because if so, then we might as well say that God is evil. God is just. Yes He will punish the wicked with eternal death, but it is in mercy to them, because they would not enjoy the bliss of heaven. In heaven, only unselfish love exists, should these evil ones be permitted to enter heaven, they would not be happy there. The false pleasures of sin would never again be enjoyed them. They would be a discordant note in the paradise of God. Heaven, as it is, and as it will be, would be a hell to them. Thus, God in mercy destroys them at the second death, without the hope of a future resurrection.

The Angel of Death is a very real entity. It has no wings, nor a knife. As heavenly angels possess only a white glow around them and no halo, so does Death have a dark glow about it. It appears and disapears as a spirit, but with much more power. Unlike the appearance of a heavenly angel, the presence of Death immediately brings fear. It carry's a very heavy ora that is felt by those who see it.

With that said, there is nothing to say for certain if death is good, bad, or just a gatekeeper. There is only speculation and individual beliefs. The question is, if death is just a gatekeeper, then why wouldnt everyone experience the dark angels presence in the millions of near death or afterlife stories that are told. If it is good or bad, then why do we only ever hear stories of the good being greeted by white lights or angles and the bad being thrown into the pits of Hell.

Answer:

No... death is BAD! Death is the domain of Satan the Devil; both of which are man's ENEMY. And the "grave" is "the LAND of the enemy."

"The ENEMY that sowed them IS THE DEVIL..." (Matt.13:39).

"Forasmuch then as the Children are partakers of flesh and blood, He [Jesus] also Himself likewise took part of the same; that through death He might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, THE DEVIL..." (Heb.2:14).

Death is the natural result and "the wages" of "SIN" [Rom.6:23].

Our Creator is all about the business of DESTROYING both SIN and DEATH... because they are BAD.

Already, "Faithful" men have access to LIFE in Jesus Christ, who overcame death through the shedding of His Divine Blood... and who now offers ETERNAL LIFE to all who come to Him.

It's a start -- the "beginning of the end" of God's plan. Although DEATH and SIN still reign on the earth... God's plan, by its conclusion, will see the END OF BOTH DEATH AND SIN! It will be marked by the return of Jesus Christ to earth:

"For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. But every man in his own order: Christ the Firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's AT HIS COMING.

"THEN COMETH THE END, when He shall have delivered up the Kingdom to God, even the Father; when He shall have put down all authority and power. For HE MUST REIGN, till He hath put ALL ENEMIES UNDER HIS FEET. The LAST ENEMY that shall be destroyed is DEATH." (I Cor.15:22-26)

The "Angel of Death" is a "necessary evil" in a world full of sin, wickedness, misery and hatred... until sin and its wages are all experienced, worked out and paid to all the generations of men working out their lives.

Bible prophecy speaks of much more death to be paid out before men learn the full lesson of death's futile end game. The prophecies point to the "Last Great Day," Judgment Day... where "there will be a test"... to see who learned the lessons and who failed. To see who learned to reject sin through Faith in the Blood of the Author of Salvation and to embrace Love and Life; and who will embrace hatred, sin and death in utter rebellion against the Good.

God doesn't regard "sin" with the light-hearted approach that Satan-guided men do. It's a very sad, hope-draining, nasty, gory business... dying. But a most essential lesson for men to learn if they are to one day be shed of it; converted, saved and ultimately be born into God's Divine, Immortal Family.

God is revealing to men how truly UGLY and ABOMINABLE -- not good -- death is.

While man, who began to obey and worship the god of this world from the beginning, finds himself in these last days "entertaining" himself with multilation, horror and death in the cinema, TV, in his high-tech computer games... and in certain annual customs, traditions and celebrations.

The people of Egypt didn't think the Angel of Death that passed through their nation that first Passover night was "good." The stink of death was all around them. Men, women, children, animals... young and old... all who were the firstborn among them not protected by the "lamb's blood" in which some placed their trust that night, lay dead; decomposing and silent across the breadth of Egypt.

No one jumped for joy or cheered or laughed in the angel's wake of destruction. IT WAS A HORROR SHOW! A necessary one that "saved" God's people from both "death" and "bondage" to their former slavemaster, Pharaoh [symbolizing Satan] -- and resulted in their "liberation" from Egypt [symbolizing sin]. That's the symbolism of the Passover:

"I AM the Lord thy God [Jesus Christ, the Creator God of the Old Testament - John 1:3], which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt [out of sin], out of the house of bondage [out of your slavery to sin]. (Ex.20:2)

The Angel of Death had a necessary and nasty job to do that Passover night. And until sin and death are finally destroyed on earth... his job isn't done, yet.

But, that's just the "First Death"... which is bad enough. The Bible tells us that all who have ever lived and "died" will "live again" -- to face the possibility of the "Second Death" in the coming Judgment.

"And death and hell [hades; the grave] were cast into the Lake of Fire. This is the Second Death [from which Jesus can save men - see Rev.2:11]. And whosoever was not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the Lake of Fire." (Rev.20:14-15)

Those who die the Second Death face a more tragic death than the first one that's "appointed to all of us" [Heb.9:27]. Those "hurt of the Second Death" will never live again.

So, while the death that the angel doles out on earth, now, is in no way to be construed as "good." It's infinitely better than coming back to life in the Judgment to face death all over again [where there will be weeping and nashing of teeth - Matt.13:42: not singing, dancing and celebrating].

But in the case of either death... few if any people leap for joy over its prospect. LIFE is good.

Is the grim reaper evil?

The Grim Reaper represents Death. Death is the natural consequence of mankind sinning against God almighty, so in a sense it could be considered evil. The Bible says in Revelation that the last enemy that would be thrown into the lake of fire would be death. The Grim Reaper is also called the Angel of Death, and in that sense, he could also be considered evil. But the Bible never confirms that this angel is a devil, therefore evil. My best reply to this is that the grim reaper is the personification of something that we fear and dread, and that because of that, we make it out to be evil. But if you are washed in Christ's blood and redeemed, youi don't have to fear death. The Lord promises you eternal life with him.

Is god and Satan real or just merely representations of good and evil in your mind?

In the Bible, Satan was God's angel, but became evil out of greed. They aren't representations. The modern christian names The Christian God, "God" or "Lord". God's name was really Jaweh or Jehovah. Final answer: In the Christian mind, they are real, maybe even physical.

What is death in Christianity?

Christians believe that when they die, they go to heaven and live a life of everlasting peace and happiness in paradise. That is assuming they were good people when they were living. If they were evil, then they go to hell and live in torment forever more. [Pave3Ant] Begging your pardon, but that is violently and offensively wrong. A Christian will go to heaven, regardless of how evil they were, just because they are a Christian - because Jesus paid the penalty for their evil, that is. Conversely, a non-Christian will go to Hell, regardless of how good they were (unless they were absulutely and utterly and continually perfect) just because there is any evil at all in their lives and because they did not turn to Jesus to pay the penalty for it. (I should add that someone who is orientated towards evil is not a Christian.) That is the difference between Christianity and every other religion (independently of whether or not it is true).
