My turn signal switch died on my 92 Grand Prix. Rather than attempting the repair, I took it to a shop. The steering column had to be removed to get to the switch.
On my 2001 it is part of the Hazard switch. You have to replace the entire switch on a 2001.
Incorporated in the hazard warning module part of the hazard switch
I just had this problem with my 2002 Pontiac Grand Am. The problem is a short in the "multi-function switch." When I took it to get fixed, they told me that a lot of Pontiac Grand Ams have had this problem, and mine was fixed through warranty. If that is not the problem with your car, check the "signal flasher relay." Hope I helped!
IT IS BEHIND THE FOUR WAY FLASHER SWITCH. IT IS ELECTRONIC AND CAN ONLY BE GOTTEN FROM A DEALER.
Pontiac Grand ams dont have an inertia switch, actually no GM cars that i know of have them.
