The oil pump is located on the bottom of the engine, mounted to the block. It is acessed by removing the oil pan.

if u have the 4.2 engine, the oil pump is located under the timing chain cover located on the front of the engine and u have to remove the oil pan in order to remove the cover. This is a big deal (even for dealers mechanics) they will not attem to replace the oil pump.
