I had Leukemia (AML) in 2007, and currently on remission. According to my laboratory report last Dec. 11, 2009 my White Blood Cell Count was still low at 3.7 K/UL. In engineering, the letter "K" means 1000. Therefore, in my case I had a White Blood Cell Count of 3,700. The Lab. normal range for this "count" in my hospital here in Texas is (4.0 to 11.0 K/UL) according to the report. This will place the count of 18,500 beyond the normal upper range of 11,000. But, do not be alarmed if you have this count of 18,500 because I read sometime ago that the normal range differs from one Lab. to another Lab. It is better for you to ask your personal doctor the next time you visit him/her.
