Need to know about 97 firebrid making a shifting noise when driving on road. Not all the time. Just replace the gas filter. What about the transmission filter and oil does this need changed?

auto transmissions oil and filter should be changed every 50,000 miles. need to drop the trans pan to get to filter which means the vehicle needs to be raised. do not remove the valve body or you will have a huge headache.
