Number 1 on the distributor cap should be located right behind the coil. The two front terminals are #1 on the front right and #8 on the front left.
Check the module under the distributor cap.
the cap doesn't have a #1 mark on it.
It is under the distributor cap. If you look at the right side of the dist. You will see 2 electrical wires that plug into the module that's under the cap.
should be in a straight line from center of the distributer cap to the #1 cylinder, or pointing at the #1 cylinder
You're best option is to measure the cap and your truck bed to see how close they match. Good luck!
Yes it will
Clockwise--1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2
If your asking this question you shouldn't be working on your truck.
Check the glove box. That's where I find everything. there is not a tdc you have to have a scan tool to put it in time that is what i had to do on my 97 gmc. the crab cap elmanites that... it is a pain in the butt if you ever have to change the dist.
It is 1-6-5-4-3-2- with 1-3-5 on drivers sid. The #1 is the most foreward position on the cap and the dist turns clockwise.
Its on the overflow tank.
On the dist., cap, where the wires go in, there is a tab labeled TACH.
