AnswerI wish! Fact is, it's several pieces if you include the windows. It's just something Jeep owners live with. AnswerWrong, Ive been told it will by another owner, who has yet had the time to show me, but he does his all the time (we both own a 1994) i wish he could just find the time as im too lazy to remove the top totally being on my own, its difficult.you have to remove all 3 rear windows first. and purchasing a 'storage boot' for the rear of the vehicle to keep the 'bars' down.
AnswerThe YJ soft top does collapse. However, this was before the the quick disconnects existed. So, you have to unzip both side windows and unclip the rear window and corner fabric. Fold all of these down flat. This will release tension on the front. Then, the side rails (the ones above the doors) need to be released. This could be as easy as removing a cotter pin or as difficult as undoing bolts - depending on the style of hardware. Next, unclip the front bow above the windscreen and fold the top down from the back in an Accordion fashion. The only thing required to keep the top rails secured is a velcro (excuse me: hook and loop) strap on either side. Though, those soft-top boots look quite good.Wiki User
