whaT KIND OF COOLANT DO I PUT IN MY 2001 PONTIAC SUNFIRE Generally, the GM model vehicles, or is this case, the sunfire, use a specific kind of coolant called DEX-cool extended life engine coolant. It is orange-ish in color and most of the time GM specific. i have a 01 sunfire, 2.2 liter myself, and on my car frame, i have a sticker that says "Use only DEX-cool engine coolant....". Hope this helps!
The regulator won't be shown separately on your Pontiac. Most GM vehicles of that vintage had Alternators with built in regulators.
The OBD2 plug for most GM vehicles is to the left or right of the steering column, at the bottom of the dashboard.
The Sunfire is an excellent small car. The 2.2L engine is solid as well as the automatic transmission. The only drawbacks are GM paint and cheap steel that rusts unless loked after which is the case with most cars nowadays.
Gm does make Pontiac, but Jeep is a Chrysler brand.
If it is a 4 cylinder it has 4, V6 then it has 6. Some 4 cylinders do have 8 plugs, Ford for instance, but not the GM 4 cylinders.
