Put the car all the way down into first gear (as well as set the parking brake.) then you have to remove the cup holder via two Philips head screws on either side. then there are a couple screws in the ash tray compartment, (once the ash tray is taken out, they are on the top side.) then you should be able to start working that panel off, (you might have to unplug the cigarette lighter port.) once that panel is off, all that's left are four more Philips head screws and you can start working the entire assembly out of the hole.
