No,not the fan clutch or Power Steering pump for that matter. Had same touble with my 2000 Buick. Turned out to be, of all things, the front struts not properly lubricated. Dealer dismantled the top of the struts and used a very heavy grease all over. Put it back together and NO noise! NOW, this is assuming you only experience the noise when turning the steering wheel! The simple answer to your question, as asked, is YES, it possible that the fan clutch, OR ANY OF THE FOLLOWING COMPONENTS could be causing the noise. There are MANY things which can cause many different noises. From your question, "...jet engine noise..." I have to assume you mean like the high pitched "whine" made by high speed turbine blades. This suggests something which is turning at high speed. This means probably something ON, not in, the engine. The components which commonly can cause a high pitched whine include: 1. Power steering pump bearings, vanes, or pulley, 2. Alternator bearings or pulley, 3. The air pump [for the pollution control system] bearings, vanes, or pully, 4. The belt, or belts, which drive these components, 5. Air conditioner clutch [bearings or a loose fragment trapped inside the assembly] or pulley, 6. If operating when the noise is present, the air conditioner compressor itself [bearings, piston/cylinder,etc.], 7. The radiator fan clutch or pulley [if your vehicle uses a belt driven fan] OR, if your vehicle has an electric radiator fan, 8. The bearings in the electric radiator fan motor and, 9. Even the heat/AC blower fan bearings [IF it is operating when the noise is heard]. Again, the simple answer to your question is YES, it is possible that any one or more of these components could be the source of the noise, AND there may be others which I have not thought of. Belt and/or pulley noises are usually the result of misadjustment and/or misalignment of the pulleys. Occasionally, an improper or wrong fitting belt can also cause similar noise. As mentioned in answer 1, it is important to note whether the sound occurs all the time, or intermittantly, as if only when making a hard or tight turn. If it occurs ONLY when turning, the problem is probably related to drive belt tension, or as experienced by the responder in answer 1, a suspension and/or steering component, an improperly lubricated strut bushing. To AVOID unnecessarily replacing VERY EXPENSIVE components, it is IMPERATIVE that the SOURCE of the noise is CORRECTLY IDENTIFIED BEFORE YOU replace anything. I strongly suggest that you get another, or even two, opinion from a PROFESSIONAL MECHANIC(S) before paying to repair anything. It is better to pay to get a PROPER DIAGNOSIS, and then to pay for a single, proper repair, than to spend a lot of money only to then find out that the problem is still there. Thanks for your quick answers. The car does make the "jet-engin" noise as soon as I hit the gas. You can even hear it while the car is idling. Checking around on the internet I have found atleast 50 people with the same problem & they were all upset & demanded a recall by GM because of it. They also had in common that their cars were fixed by replacing their fan clutches. But I guess I should take it to a certified GM shop & have them check it out. If anyone has anymore suggestions I would love to hear them. TY. Martin.

There is a good chance your power steering fluid is low. Check the fluid level. If it is low, then add some fluid. If that is not the case then you might possible just have an air bubble that will work itself out shortly. Let me know how you come out!

How do you fix horn on 98 Toyota Sienna It works only when steering wheel is cranked hard left or right?

It sounds like you have loose or cracked wiring. As the steering wheel contains the air bag, and it will have to be removed to get to the horn switch, I would suggest you have this fixed by a professional. Serious injury can occur when working with the SRS. Don't take that chance, just pay a pro, and have it fixed.

Does 60 percent of rain means its going to rain?

No. A 60% chance of rain means exactly what it sounds like: there is a 60% chance that it will rain. This also means that there is a 40% chance that it will not rain.
