Out of gas?
on the back of the car
If your vechicle does that it means that your battery was dead and after a while of cranking it sometimes it gets charge and starts
Honestly ,to me if it wont start, then it is a power problem! because of Pontiac's alternators and being that the car is almost 10 yrs old you should have that checked!!
Sounds like the starter is bad, More precisely, the starter solinoid. Its on the starter unlike A Ford that has it on the inner fender.
Did it struggle to start in the first place? Similar problem with my kf, had to jump start it, was fine for about 10 minutes then just died, wouldn't start again until jumped. Drove with lights on and they gradually got dimmer and dimmer, then died again, problem was the alternator. If your car has just died and wont start but lights+cd player etc. still work it will be starter motor or other problems.
Check the starter on your truck, I had a similar problem when a power wire melted on the starter and short circuited the radio, and the dashboard lights, plus the fact that the truck would turn over but not start... pull all wires that may have melted on it away from the starter, if it starts up, that was the problem. Another possibility, the fuel pump is bad, very common for GM.
Clean the battery post connections first thing. You may have a starter relay going bad.
Probably a bad fuel pump, not uncommon.
Reading the Owners Manual sure doesn't make this easy...I would start with checking fuse 18 and then maybe 10.Only a guess...See "Related Questions" below for more
was fuel filter replaced
Probably a bad fuel pump, GM fuel pumps are known for that.
