first if the shop messed it up. I would let them fix it. They propley did, by not making sure all of the connections were tight, or a broke wire. It could just be that it just happened and had nothing to do with the mechanic. You can go to the parts store and ask them to run the scan tool. alot of the national shops will do it free. they want to sell you the parts to fix it. The computer in the car may have the information on what the problem is. The scan tool is call and odb2. hope it helps. duboff

on most cars the ignitions switch, is generally loctaed in side the steering column or under the dash above where your legs are when you are sitting in the drivers seat. Just had to have my 2000 Impala's Key cyilinder switch replaced. My mechanic explained to me that the electrical Ignition switch is directly behind the key cylinder.
