Please re-phrase your question; it appears you are saying the brake lights come on when you push the brake pedal and the lights are working (normal operation). If the lights are staying on after you release the pedal, then the problem is with th brake light switch (sticking). Thanks Malcolm
I had the same problem with my Jeep Wrangler. My tail lights were also not working. Turns out the same fuse controls both (at least in my vehicle) and when the tail lights go out, the dimmer goes out so you know there's a problem. Check your fuse.
u may have a defective multifunction switch
Had the same problem, it was the automatic idler valve. Not an expensive part and easily changed.
There is a wire harness. The bulbs tend to go out.
Your dashboard lights suddenly not working is almost always your indication that your taillights are out. If the fuse for your taillights is blown and you replace it, your dash lights should be fine.
Switch is defective or out of adjustment.
I am having this same problem. The lights for the license plate don't work either. I have had two mechanics suggest to me that I replace the HeadLight Switch. I am thinking about ordering one on Monday.
your hassard lites have a separate flaher relay change it.
We had that problem and brought it in today to get fixed. The problem was the motor overheated.

There are numerous warning lights for a Mazda RX8. Some of the warning lights are for engine oil, charging system, ABS, and check engine.
You should clarify your problem or question. Is it the front or rear signal light? Is the tail light coming on with the signal light? Are none of the lights coming on at all?
