Remove the back seats. The bottom part is on clips and may take a bit of trickery. Once it's out you'll see 2 bolts holding the back part in. Behind that you'll find a insulation layer. Pull that up and you'll see the motor and a relay switch to the left of it. Test the relay switch first using a multimeter. If its good replace the motor. If you hear the motor turning, but nothing happens the rams probably need fluid. You'll find a rubber plug on the motor, Pull it out and fill it with Type A Transmission Fluid.
It goes up and down. Or not sometimes...
1987-1995 Lebaron convertable top up/down switch is located on the console. On earlier models, It may be in the same location.
If one wants to use convertible top fluid on a 1992 Lebaron convertible, one should first put the fluid on a rag and begin to wipe down the top. It is important that one spread the fluid evenly on the top.
If you hear a clicking noise, there is power getting to it you just have a bad motor. if nothing happens, check the fuse. you can always put it up and down manually until you fix it.
The motors on the rear quarter windows are unreliable.. same thing happened to my lebaron. you have to push them down and move it back and forth. but be careful as to not break it or put too much pressure on it. That worked for me.
possibly the up solonoid located in the trunk attached to the convertable top motor.
should be on the exhaust manifold down pipe... you need to get under the car to see it...
Unlatch the latches at the top of the window, then press the convertible top button down. this button is located near the armrest. If this does not work you must aquire a new convertible top motor. from the trunk, remove hyd. fluid from the conv. top pump, operate top by hand. worked for me for years
In my 1991 lebaron convertible the front door speaker grilles just pop off( no need yo unscrew door) on the back u take a Phillips head and unscrew the 2 screws and it comes out from the back (located under the black fabric with top down
Check on E-Bay. I have often seen new and used convertible top motors for sunbirds of our generation
How do you put the top down on a 1998 Chevrolet Convertible
I have a 1994 Chrysler lebaron convertible GTC the top motor went out I changed the relay which is right beside the top motor. And that did not fix the problem so I got a ice cream bucket and unhooked the two oil lines that attach to the motor which is behind the back seat under the well cover. I put the ends of the oil lines in the ice cream bucket and removed the top motor the a friend and I pushed the top down by hand to push out all the oil from the lines. Now my convertible top is manual. Don't put lines back on motor or it will not work.
