Try putting it in a garage! Actually I have the same problem too. I have been working with a local gagarge that is not affiliated with GM. I replaced the fuel pump in 2005 and we ae thinking it is going to need replace again. Luckily it is under warranty, because the last time it was over 500 for parts an labor. We just replaced the fuel filter and it is still not starting right away. So, if you really want to put the money into an 8 year old vehicle go ahead. My advice, after you get it fixed, trade it in right away for something more reliable, because since I had anything newer than 1998 I have had nothing but problems with Chevy. Too much electrical sensors and components not enough good old fashioned car that is easy to repair yourself! We had a 1975 Dodge van and you knew where everthing was and what it was for. With all of these emmision gadgets on cars there is too much to get through and too much can be damamged if you go to a garage where hey don't know what the hell they are doing! Sorry I rambled on, hope I answerd your question. But, I still feel strongly about buying American products, even if most of the components come from Mexico and Canada! Where most of Toyota and Honda's components come from too....and Sony and Mitsubishi and Lexus and Hyundai. Of course if you buy a Japaneese car you are more than likely buying a car that ws assembled right here in the good ole USA. Kinda like how Volkswagen had an assembly plant right outside of Pittsburgh PA back in the 80's. Now it's a SONY plant. If you went to your local SEARS and bought a big new SONY T.V. to watch the PAtriots get their ASSES KICKED!!!! then chances are you bought a TV that was put together (by real people...mostly temps) right here in the good old USA! GOD BLESS AMERICA!
