That's the thing. God never ever broke the covenant, it was always us.

It begins at the creation; it was our first parents that ate from the tree of knowledge though we were told not to. We were the ones who dirtied the earth up so much that God HAD to cleanse it with the flood. And it was us who raked up so many sins; that the only way we could ever be forgiven from them was to have the ultimate sacrifice- Jesus Christ. So, to answer your question, God hasn't broke the covenant, and never will.

People break promises, God is not some moody figure that changes his mind and get's pissed off, so the answer is NO.

A simple and concrete proof is the fact that Jewish ppl as a nation (despite their various ethnicity ramification, which is a miracle) survived a 2000 years diaspora and since the year 5698 (1948 a.c.) they are back to same land as told to Abraham and described word by word in the Torah that remained unchanged for 3000 years.

From a Christian standpoint: It was not broken but is fulfilled through Jesus. In Genesis 22:15-18 God promises that by means of Abraham's offspring all nations of the Earth will be blessed. The Apostle Paul said in Galatians 3:16 that this offspring was Jesus Christ who was a Jew. In verse 28 and 29 he then says that there is no longer a natural born preference but instead everyone who belongs to Christ is now Abraham's offspring and heirs to the promise.

A covenant is an AGREEMENT, PACT, or MARRIAGE relationship between two or more parties. This is the "verbal" agreement between God and the people of Israel:

"Now therefore, IF YE WILL OBEY MY VOICE INDEED, and keep My covenant, then ye SHALL BE A PECULIAR TREASURE UNTO ME above all people [above all other nations in the world]: for all the earth is Mine. And ye shall be UNTO ME A KINGDOM OF PRIESTS and an HOLY NATION. These are the words [the stipulations of the agreement] which thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel." (Ex.19:5-6)

"And Moses came and called for the elders [leaders] of the people, and LAID BEFORE THEIR FACES ALL THESE WORDS which the LORD [the LORD who was and is Jesus Christ, the WORD and Creator God of the Old Testament who MADE ALL THINGS - John 1:3 & 10] commanded him. And ALL THE PEOPLE ANSWERED TOGETHER, and said, 'ALL THAT THE LORD HATH SPOKEN WE WILL DO.' And Moses returned the words of the people unto the LORD." (verses 7-8)

THAT IS THE COVENANT AGREEMENT between the LORD [Jesus Christ] and Israel: to OBEY HIM!

"And the LORD [Jesus Christ] said unto Moses, 'Lo, I come unto thee IN A THICK CLOUD, that THE PEOPLE MAY HEAR WHEN I SPEAK with thee, and BELIEVE THEE FOR EVER'... And the LORD said unto Moses, 'Go unto the people, and sanctify them to day and to morrow, and let them wash their clothes, and BE READY AGAINST THE THIRD DAY: for THE THIRD DAY the LORD WILL COME DOWN IN THE SIGHT OF ALL THE PEOPLE upon Mount Sinai..." (verses 9-11).

So, THREE DAYS after the people VOWED TO OBEY THE LORD'S VOICE... after they CLEANED THEMSELVES UP... the LORD [Jesus Christ] appeared to them from Mount Sinai in a most frightful way; and HIS VOICE ENUMERATED TO THEM THE TEN COMMANDMENTS [see chapter 20] -- the things GOD WANTED THEM TO OBEY!!!

And because the people never obeyed the Commandments WHICH THE LORD'S VOICE SPOKE... THEY BROKE THE AGREEMENT. And THEY SINNED:

"... for SIN IS THE TRANSGRESSION OF THE LAW." (I John 3:4]

It was thereafter that the subsequent ritual laws of the sacrifices were ADDED:

"For I spake NOT unto your fathers, NOR COMMANDED them IN THE DAY THAT I BROUGHT THEM OUT OF THE LAND OF Egypt, CONCERNING BURNT OFFERINGS or SACRIFICES: but THIS THING COMMANDED I THEM, saying, 'OBEY MY VOICE, and I will be your God, and ye shall be My people: and WALK YE IN ALL THE WAYS THAT I HAVE COMMANDED YOU [by doing what the Ten Commandments say], THAT IT MAY BE WELL UNTO YOU." (Jer.7:22-23)

Please notice that the LORD [Jesus Christ] did NOT give the Israelites the Ten Commandments AS A BURDEN to them, as many modern denominations of professing Christianity teach. He gave them to them so that things MAY BE WELL with them -- but only IF THEY OBEYED THEM.

Which should teach us that IT'S DISOBEDIENCE TO THE LAW OF GOD [SIN] that CAUSES things to NOT GO WELL FOR US! The automatic results of murder, lust, lying, stealing, infidelity, disloyalty, Sabbath-breaking, cursing God's sacred name, and trusting in the creation instead of the Creator, is that THINGS DON'T GO SO WELL FOR US.

And with the world seemingly so dead set against God's Laws; so determined as it seems to pursue lying, stealing, murder, rejecting the Creator to teach evolutionary thought... this might explain why THINGS AREN'T GOING SO WELL in the world: if only man could bring himself to believe it, repent of it, and turn to his Creator for His Mercy and Forgiveness, that we might learn to extend it to one another.

But that's how Israel BROKE THE COVENANT WITH GOD... they SINNED... they DISOBEYED GOD'S LAWS, which are the particulars of the covenant.

"For if that FIRST COVENANT bad been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the SECOND. For FINDING FAULT WITH THEM [the fault was with the unconverted, stiff-necked, rebellious human nature of the PEOPLE... not the covenant]. He saith, 'Behold the days come, saith the LORD, when I will make A NEW COVENANT with the House of Israel and with the House of Judah [the Jews]: not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they CONTINUED NOT IN MY COVENANT, and I regarded them not,' saith the LORD.

'For THIS IS THE COVENANT that I WILL MAKE with the House of Israel [then reunited with the House of Judah as one nation - see Ezek.37:16-26] after those days,' saith the LORD; I WILL PUT MY LAWS [those same old Ten Commandments] INTO THEIR MIND[not written in stone to hang on a wall], and WRITE THEM IN THEIR HEARTS [where they will be NEAR and DEAR... an integral part of them]: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to Me a people... for ALL SHALL KNOW ME, from the least to the greatest. For I will be Merciful to their transgressions, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more...'" (Heb.8:7-12).

God's New Covenant with ALL MEN will be when all men are "changed" [I Cor.15:51-52] into the Children of God into His Immortal Family; when all the members of His Family shall have His Laws of Love and Respect written in their hearts and minds; when EVERYONE shall literally BE Love [I John 4:8]. Until then, mankind, stuck with his selfish, rebellious human nature that's HOSTILE TO GOD'S LAWS [Rom.8:7], has to learn the hard way that "things don't go well" when God's Laws are broken [when we SIN].

You shouldn't make a blanket statement (or question). Many of the Israelites in every generation lived their whole lives completely in accordance with God's covenant. The answer to your question is: Those Israelites who strayed after idolatry or committed other egregious sins were thereby breaking the covenant. Many did so. However, even then, many of those repented (Judges 2:1-4).

It was because of those who broke the covenant (who were sufficiently numerous), that God allowed the Temple to be destroyed.

1) Abraham's superlative dedication to God. 2) God's desire to give permanence to Abraham's efforts, ensuring an eventual nation of his descendants.3) God's desire to publicize the benefit of serving Him.God made two covenants with Abraham:1) In Genesis ch.15, the Covenant Between the Parts:a) God informs Abraham of future events (the Egyptian exile)b) God promises the land of Canaan (Israel) to Abraham's descendantsc) The covenant is finalized through a demonstration of God's presence (see Genesis 15:7-9 and 15:17).2) In Genesis ch.17, the covenant of circumcision:a) The promises of many descendants (17:2,3) and of inheriting the land of Canaan are repeated (17:8), but the main thing in this covenant is the promise that God will be the God of Abraham (17:7, 17:8).b) God promises that Abraham and Sarah will have a son (17:15-16), whom they will name Isaac (17:19) and who will be the continuation of God's covenant with Abraham (17:21).c) The covenant itself is manifested through circumcision, for Abraham and his descendants (17:10).
