There was fighting in most of the thirteen colonies. Intense and prolonged fighting took place in western Pennsylvania and upstate New York. In Europe the war was called the Seven Years War, and there as fighting in Europe, and even in the Solomon Islands in the South Pacific, where US troops would battle the Japanese in WWII, in 1942-43. Because of this widespread fighting around the globe some historians say the French and Indian War (Seven Years War) was really the first World War.
