Non-nutritive means - not related to providing nutrition. Any products which contain no nutrients(carbohydrates, fats, protein..) nor calories could be regarded as non-nutritives. Most commonly this term is associated with artificial sweeteners as they are edible products providing 0 nutrition.

Anything with nutrients, which are chemicals that an organism needs to live and grow or substances used in an organism's metabolism which must be taken in from its environment. So, anything that the chemical machine that is your body can use in the billion odd chemical reactions that makes up its metabolism... which is a pretty extensive list.
