It will hopefully lead to the establishment of democratic republics. The hope is that popular opinion would not support extremist ideology, and that capitalism and globalization will lead to a country that doesn't antagonize it's neighbors or support extremism, as it would discourage foreign investment and thus foreign wealth from flowing in. The best situation would be like Egypt, where those in power give it up in the face of popular support of democracy. Less desirable is what happened in Libya, but at least the rebels won out in the nd and another dictator is gon from the world. Syria is the current problem, and if the US wasn't too bogged down with her own economic problems, I believe we should go in their and put amend to the e is done by the regime their. Of course, any existing totalitarian states in the region would get quite worried. First Afganistan, then Iraq, now Syria? I'd be worried if I were Iran.
