They both believe in God and in Christ but do not have the same number of bibles. I think Christians have more number of Bibles.

AnswerA Catholic is a Christian. Roman Catholic AnswerChristianity is the religion of, the body of faith and morals taught by, the Catholic Church of Christ. The word may be properly extended to include the religious systems of the dissident Eastern churches and of some Protestant bodies (see Christian below). The current popular use of the word [Christianity] in an ethical, subjective sense, is to be deplored: it is stripping it of all objective or historical connotations.

Christian. A name first given to the followers of our Lord at Antioch (Acts xi, 26). Since the rise of Protestantism the name has been used in so many different senses as to have become almost meaningless: it may indicate a Catholic or a Unitarian, or even be applied to an infidel who displays some virtue which is associated with Christ. It may reasonably be applied to the members of all the ancient churches, whether in communion with the Holy See or not, and to those Protestants who profess, explicitly or implicitly, the Nicene creed in its traditional interpretation. the Church puts no definite official meaning on the word, as she does on Catholic.

AnswerBoth are based on the teachings of Christ which are the key principles of Christianity as they were put into practice for the first 1500 years of Christianity. Catholic AnswerThe Catholic religion is the only Christian religion which was established by Our Blessed Lord, Jesus Christ, and guaranteed by Him until the end of the world. The Anglican faith is a man-made religion (in other words, protestant) by Henry VIII, Edward VI, and Elizabeth I, established by Parliament and enforced on the English people by decree. There are outward similarities between the two as King Henry realized that the Catholic faith was too deeply rooted in England to be overthrown that easily, so he kept the Churches (well, actually, he stole the Churches) translated the Mass into English and kept things looking pretty much the same, vestments, bishops, priests, etc. Beyond the superficial trappings, though, the Anglican faith is just another protestant religion and is proving that as it fragments to hundreds of small breakaway faiths.

Many similar beliefs; including:

  1. Both are widely believed religions.
  2. Both believe in God's angels.
  3. Both believe in the last Day of Judgment.
  4. Both believe in Paradise/Heaven and Hell.
  5. Both believe that no one enters Paradise/Heaven by own deeds/merit but rather by God Mercy and forgiveness.
  6. Both believe in eternal life after earthly death.
  7. Both forbid adultery, robbery, unjustified killing, cheating and lying.
  8. Both religions are similar in practicing mutual respect to their believers. Quran says (meaning English translation): ".... You will find the nearest in love to Muslims those who say 'we are Christians'. That is because amongst them are men devoted to learning and men who have renounced the world and they are not arrogant. And when they listen to the Quran revelation received by the Messenger (Muhammad), you see their eyes overflowing with tears because of the truth they have recognized. ... So because of what they said, Allah (God) rewarded them ...." [Quran, chapter 5, verses 82-86]

In addition the following note is important:

Both religions are different in some faith issues that are regarding the relationship between yourself and your God which is a matter to be resolved by God on the Day of Judgment. However, both religions are quite similar in all issues regarding relationships among all people. In reality, there are no differences between the two religions regarding the way that people of different religions should treat each other. This, logically and spiritually, calls all people to live together in love, peace, and harmony regardless their different religions or beliefs.

They are both parts of the overall Christian Church. They are very similar, though fundamentalism (a protestant movement that believes that The Bible should should taken literally) is not part of the Catholic Church.

No. Catholicism is very different from Christianity. For example:

Christians believe the Bible is God's word and the only source of infallible truth. Catholics place the Catholic Catechism above the Bible.

Christians believe God's salvation is only through faith in Jesus Christ as a propitiation for sin. Catholics believe Jesus died so they can earn their salvation.

They are one and the same. Catholicism is the original Christian religion.

Where did you get the idea that Catholics are not Christians? Do you think Christian means Protestant only? Catholics are the first Christians and, like their non-Catholic Christian brothers believe in Jesus Christ.
