Start off by buying a Haynes Manual from Autozone. They usually run about $12 or $13. It's got a pretty good description, and has pictures. I haven't actually done this (yet), but from what I've seen, it's a pretty difficult job, and will require unbolting the body from the frame and jacking it up so you'll have room to get to the bolts. If engine is 4.3, engine can be unbolted, with no problem, but 2.8 engine requires almost body removal.
A 1983 Chevy Blazer transmission will hold 12 quarts of transmission fluid. The manufacturer recommends using a. SEA certified transmission fluid.
if the blazer is 4x4 and the s-10 has a 4.3 engine then the answer is yes
How many qt dose it take to change transmission fluid in 1995 blazer 4.3
I thought I could remove and replace the transmission in my Blazer, I did get it out but I didn't want to put it back in so I paid a local shop to come and get the blazer, transmission, and all the parts that had to be removed to get the transmission out and finish the job. I would suggest that since you are asking this question, maybe you would be better off going to a transmission shop in the first place. Mine is an automatic, a standard transmission would be much easier.
