I have a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee and it does the same thing. I called the dealer and they said it is most likely the sway bar link/bushings. I'm going to replace today and hope it works since it's an easy fix.
Possible wheel bearing problem. Most public libraries have a good Mitchell manual set in the reference section (you can't check them out but you can photo copy them.) look up your model and how to check it. Hope this helps!
