Bad head gasket. Not compression side but the outer side. Get K+W block sealer and follow the directions EXACTLY. I have had fantastic results from this product. There may be a leak at the heater core inlet. There is two smaller hoses that divert radiator water to and from the core and sometimes the brass necks break and cause small leaks. Y-THINK-Y Could quite likely be a bad heater control valve ( known to go out often on catera ). Lots of info on this and directions to repair on the cadillacforum.
A bad head gasket is the most common cause of antifreeze mixing in the oil. The antifreeze will dilute the oil and it will eventually cause your engine to seize up.
Heater hose or heater core.
no Yes, it can cause the belt to squeak and slip.
A small radiator leak can cause antifreeze to leak on your 1998 Chevy Lumina when there are not any spots on the ground. A pinhole in a hose can also cause this.
in some case it will. the composition of antifreeze is different by colour. in some engines the chemicals react with the engine parts (i.e. gaskets or seals) and cause the parts to fail. use the proper antifreeze for your engine.
Thermostats determine when antifreeze enters the main cooling system. If the thermostat isn't working correctly, the antifreeze could enter the engine to late, (or not at all) resulting in an over heating engine. Another problem of having antifreeze enter the engine late, is that if your engine is very hot, possibly a little warmer than common, when the antifreeze enters the engine, the cold fluid could cause the engine block to cool down quickly, causing a cracked engine block.
the most common cause would be a stuck closed thermostat.
When antifreeze is poured into your oil, it weakens your oil cause it to break down prematurely and can cause your engine to fail by spinning an engine bearing and even smoke. This is also a sign of a blown head gasket.
cracked head or bad gasket
Internal engine antifreeze leak what else could cause besides headgasket? there is no antifreeze in the oil it is clean
If you run it that way you will cause internal damage.
Running it without a freeze plug it will run but can and will cause permenant damage to the engine to to the amount of antifreeze you will lose Running it without a freeze plug it will run but can and will cause permenant damage to the engine to to the amount of antifreeze you will lose
